One of the goals for the online marketer should be to create multiple streams of income. This simply means you put your eggs in more than one basket, you collect payments from more than one company, and so on.
Once these income streams are established, the money flow will increase and never stop flowing. If one stream runs dry, the others will keep running, and may even overflow. The more streams of income you can establish, the better off you will be financially.
The truth is, it is not hard to create these streams of income. But rather it is time consuming, and that is why the majority of people fail; they simply do not have the patience to put forth the effort that it takes.
To create multiple streams of income, all you have to do is set up your main website, then build a bunch of blogs or other mini sites around it, and have them link back to your main site.
For example, let's say you love to golf, (which I know nothing about), and you've set up your main site about golf, which will have all the information you need to know about golfing. A visitor who comes here will know where they can purchase their gear, look up the nearest golf courses, and so on and so forth...
Now, even though your main site has all the information in the world about golfing, it probably isn't getting any traffic. That is why you need to establish other blogs and mini sites to point back to your main site.
Now these mini sites will differ from the main site in the sense that they will be focused on only one area of golf. One blog/site should focus only on golf clubs, while another focuses on golf courses, and still another on golf celebrities, and the list goes on and on.
You can set up as many mini sites on golf clubs as you like, and sign up with different affiliate programs for each site. The more sites, the more back links to your main site, and therefore the more money.
Then there are sites like squidoo, hubpages, and info barrel. You can use these sites to get backlinks, and on top of that, these sites will pay you to write for them! So basically by writing for these sites, you're killing 2 birds with one stone; creating multiple streams of income, and building back-links to your main website.
Now I'm sure golf (if that is your interest) isn't your only interest, and you could probably think of at least 5-10 markets that you would want to get into. And all you would do is repeat the above steps for each market.
Now you see how time-consuming this could be, but in all honesty, it is well worth it. You see, what you are doing is building a residual income, which means you get paid over and over and over again for the work that is already completed, thus giving you time to create more, and more.
You may only earn pennies a day from each site, but a penny doubled for 30 days...well you know the answer. These pennies eventually will turn into dollars, and you'll live happily ever after, well...at least you'll be glad that you took the time to create these multiple streams of income.
