Setting Up A Blog With Blogger
Blogger is another product of Google, and is an excellent blogging platform for those just starting their first blog, and for those who have been blogging for years. It is user friendly for the beginners, and for the more advanced they have the option to change the CSS, and HTML, to make the look and feel of the blog totally their own.

With Blogger you also have the option to use your own domain, or you can use a free sub-domain which would be "http://www.yoursite.blogger.com". This really is not bad if you are just starting out, but a shorter domain will make you look more credible. Domains can be purchased at GoDaddy.

To get started with Blogger simply go to blogger.com and log in with your Gmail account, and let Blogger guide you through the process. It is very straightforward. If you don't know what you want to name your blog yet, or what the URL should be, then you can always go back to it later.

Under the Dashboard tab you can edit your profile, upload a picture and more. You can also manage your blog, or multiple blogs from this area as well.

If you click on the "Layout" tab you can choose a different template, choose different colors, edit the HTML, and add new page elements.

There are almost 2000 different page elements and gadgets which you can add to your blog such as, custom HTML, Feed reader, newsreel, video, pictures, slide show, search box, polls, and a cool widget to show off how many followers are following your blog. Once you have added an element you simply click and drag it to where you want it to appear on your blog.

The selection of templates you have to choose from are only about 15, but you can customize the colors, and edit the HTML and CSS.

You can also monetize your blog with Google Adsense; all you have to do is sign up for the program and then add the element and specify where you want the ads to show up. But before you sign up for Adsense, make sure to have some content on your blog, otherwise you may be rejected.

Blogger has also made it extremely easy for you to add amazon products by using the "Amazon Product Finder'. You simply add your Amazon ID and add the Product Finder; then when you write a new post, you simply use the product finder to quickly and easily add product links to your post, without having to leave blogger.

Blogger is definitely one of the best free blogging platforms, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to start a blog. The next best thing to blogger is Wordpress.
